Privacy statement

The controller is Luijckx Historisch Onderzoek, Groningen, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 98508636). Questions about this statement or about your data can be sent to justus@luijckx.me.

If you use the contact form, I process your name, your email address, your question and, if you fill them in, your organisation and a deadline. If you email or call me, I process what you send or tell me yourself.

Nothing else. This website has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics or tracking services and no advertising. The fonts are loaded from this site itself.

To answer your question and, if it leads to an assignment, to prepare a quote and carry out the work. The legal basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and, for other questions, my legitimate interest in answering them (point (f)). I do not use your data for marketing, I do not sell it and I make no automated decisions with it.

A message from the form is forwarded as an email to my business mailbox. The website server does not store the message and does not log its content. To prevent abuse, the server briefly keeps count in working memory of how many messages per hour come from one address; that is not stored.

My email runs through Google Workspace (Google) and my website runs on a DigitalOcean server. They process data only on my behalf. Where that happens outside the European Economic Area, the safeguards required by the GDPR apply. I do not share your data otherwise, unless the law requires me to.

A question that does not lead to an assignment I keep for as long as needed to deal with it, and no longer than two years after that. If an assignment follows, I keep the data needed for it for as long as the tax retention obligation requires (seven years).

You may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, or for restriction of the processing, and you can object or ask for your data to be transferred. Email me and I will reply within a month. If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

The site is only reachable over a secure connection (HTTPS) and only I have access to the mailbox where messages arrive.

If anything changes in how I handle data, I will update this page. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
